When it comes to showing your patriotism, there’s nothing quite like flying a flag. If you’re looking to mount a flag on your Jeep Wrangler, there are a few things you need to consider. Below, we’ll discuss what to look for in a flag mount and provide some tips on how to install one on your Jeep. Let’s get started!
What to consider when choosing a Jeep Flag Mount
When choosing a flag mount for your Jeep, you’ll want to make sure it’s made of high-quality materials. The last thing you want is for your flag mount to break or come loose while you’re driving. You’ll also want to make sure the mount is compatible with your Jeep model. Some mounts are designed for specific models , so it’s important to do your research before making a purchase. Our offering from Rox Offroad will fit Jeep models made from 1987 up to todays present models, which include the YJ, TJ, JK, and JL. If you need a mount for your Jeep CJ you can purchase the one made by Fishbone.
How to Install the Flag Mount on your Jeep Wrangler or CJ
Once you’ve selected a mount, the next step is to install it on your Jeep. This process will vary depending on the type of mount you choose. Some mounts can be installed using existing holes in your Jeep, while others will require drilling. If you’re not comfortable drilling into your Jeep, we recommend taking it to a professional for installation.
What Options are Available for a Flag Mount
The options that are offered at High Country Off-road simply mount to your existing spare tire on the rear of your Jeep Wrangler. If you have the newest generation of the Jeep Wrangler JL that comes equipped with a backup camera then you will need our kit from ROX Offroad. It is called The Judge Flag Mounting Kit, just be sure to select the option that comes with the backup camera relocation bracket to not have any issues while in reverse.
You can save some money if you own a Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ, or JK as they do not need the camera relocation bracket and can be mounted directly to the spare tire on the SUV. We offer the ROX Offroad Jeep Flag Mount as a stand alone bracket or you can purchase a kit that comes with a 1″ flag pole.
How fast can I go with my Jeep Flag Mount from Rox Offroad?
These flag poles have been tested at highway speeds up to 80 MPH and will not break. But it is recommended to remove your flag before traveling at this rate of speed as the flag will quickly be destroyed.
What size flag pole do I need for the mount
The majority of flag mounts made for the Jeep Wrangler accept a standard 1″ flag pole. Some options come with the flag pole in the kit.
When are you supposed to use a trail flag on a Jeep?
A trail flag is generally used when you are wheeling in an area that has a lot of trees and brush. The idea is that the flag will help alert others to your location on the trail. Some areas and states require a flag when operating offroad. An example would be in Moab, Utah where a red flag is required when wheeling on public land.
Hopefully, this article has helped you learn what to look for in a Jeep flag mount and how to install one on your Wrangler. That’s all there is to mounting a flag on your Jeep Wrangler! By following the tips above, you can rest assured that your flag will be securely mounted and look great while doing it. So get out there and show your patriotism with pride!
