Jeep Easter Eggs: What are they and where to find them

If you have found yourself asking the question what are easter eggs and are they on my Jeep you have come to the right place. An easter egg in the automotive industry is a cool feature, imprint, or signature mark that is not readily apparent upon first look.

These hidden easter egg features are incorporated by designers to give Jeep owners special style elements that can either improve the vehicles functionality, comfort, or simply provide some enjoyment to the owner when they find the hidden gems on there easter egg hunt!

What year does Jeep have Easter Eggs?

1997 is the first year that you will find an easter egg on a Jeep vehicle,which is the Jeep Wrangler TJ. When updating from the YJ Wrangler designers took the iconic seven bar grille, that started with the Willys Jeep, and blended it into the cowl area to allow air to flow into the interior of the car.

While this may have been the first cool easter egg to be incorporated on a Jeep Wrangler it is not the last. Hidden easter eggs are found on other vehicles, in addition to the Wrangler, as well. Other Jeep easter eggs have been discovered in many places such as: cup holders, inside the fuel door, taillights, windshields, both the exterior and interior of the Jeep Renegade, and may other locations.

These cool easter eggs are unique to the jeep models that they appear on but the iconic seven bar grille can be found on all Jeep models in some form.

Where is the easter egg on my Jeep Wrangler?

Since the first easter egg was incorporated on the Jeep Wrangler it makes sense that designers have continued to incorporate unique easter eggs on all models from the TJ and JK to the latest JL.

You can find one if you look closely at the passenger side of the windshield in the lower corner you will find a willys jeep climbing.

Wrangler JL Easter Eggs

On the newer JL models you can find morse code below the L underneath the 12V plugin. One other Jeep Wrangler Easter Egg present on this generation is the text Since 1941 that shows every time you start the car in the gauge cluster. Another subtle nod to the original Willys three spoke steering wheel are the three notches on the circle surround on horn of the latest model. If you were lucky enough to purchase a Jeep Wrangler in the Rubicon trim you can also find the original Williy’s Jeep image on the wheel!

Jeep Renegade Easter Eggs

One Jeep vehicle that has an abundance of unique hidden features is the Jeep Renegade. If you are asking how many easter eggs can this car have, well Car and Driver found 30[1] spread throughout the Jeep Renegades interior and exterior.ciao bab

One such finding can be located inside the fuel cap. Upon opening you will find a spider with the word “Ciao Baby” which is a nod to the Renegade being built in Italy beside the Fiat 500X. We have a full list of Jeep Renegade easter eggs here!

Vintage Gas Carrier References

If you look on the roof of the Renegade you will also find a gas can style X stamped on the roof. This pays homage to the cans that jeeps carried during World War II. This same gas can X is found on the taillights as well as in the cup holders of the Jeep Renegade. The Jeeps grille can also be found incorporated into the plastic cover by the mirror and the stereo speaker surrounds.

Does my Jeep Grand Cherokee have an Easter Egg?

Yes! Your Jeep Grand Cherokee does have an easter egg. One such easter egg is an image of the original Jeeps in the head light. You will also find the front image of a Jeep Grand Cherokee when scrolling through the menu options and get to the vehicle info section.

Jeep Cherokee Digital Easter Egg

If your Jeep Cherokee is equipped with the park assist feature you will see a model of the Jeep Grand Cherokee parking between two 1941 Jeeps. You will also find that the image of a Jeep Grand Cherokee is used throughout the cars interior on buttons such as the air recirculation button.

Do all Jeeps have hidden easter eggs?

No, All Jeep cars do not have hidden easter eggs. Jeep owners who have a vehicle that was manufactured prior to 1997 will not find easter eggs. Also you will not find a Jeep Easter egg within the Jeep Patriots interior or exterior.
